Include the Self Employed in the 80% Salary Guarantee during the COVID-19 Crisis
Include all registered Self Employed in the Government's 80% Salary Guarantee.
- enable the self employed not on PAYE to have equal access to grants and payments up to 80% of their income as promised to employees.
Financial measures for the Self Employed are not equal to the financial support offered to employees.
Self Employed not on PAYE have no access to grants equal to 80% of income.
Self Employed working from home are not eligible for the Small Business Grant
Large businesses have been given grants, whereas many Self Employed have only been offered repayable loans.
The Self Employed only have access to Universal Credit less than £600 per month for a couple, or SSP only claimable when we are sick.

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
