Government to provide grants of up to £2,500 for Self Employed during COVID-19.

Petition Details

Government to provide grants of up to £2,500 per month for those who are Self Employed during the Coronavirus Pandemic if their earnings are over Statutory Sick Pay rate

Additional Information

Statutory Sick Pay is not enough to support those who are self employed. At a rate of £94.25 a week or £377 a month this is less than Statutory Maternity Pay. The self employed such as Plumbers, Electricians and Heating Engineers keep our water running, lighting and appliances working and Heating in our homes.

Taking into account their own living costs and the costs of being self employed including insurance and vehicles, many of these self individuals will not be able to afford to live.
