Petition Action

Stop all mortgage, rent, and council tax payment for every UK resident

Petition Details

The UK government should put an immediate stop to all mortgage, rent and council tax payments for a minimum of 3 months.
Mortgage and rent holidays are only going to put families into debt in 3 months time with increased payments in mortgage and rent to pay after the 3 month holiday.

Additional Information

The Government have declared that they will pay up to 80% of employed staff until the coronavirus is under control. However, the self employed will only recieve SSP. This is not enough for anyone to live on and is an insult to the self employed work force.
To take pressure off all families in the UK the government should immediately scrap all mortgage, council tax and rent for every citizen. These measures have already been rolled out in other European countries to prevent debts escalating.
