Require schools and universities to start the academic year in January 2021
Deal with the current problem of Coronavirus, and then allow until November to sort out the academic exams in both schools and universities. Then resume the next stage in the new year. This is to stop Coronavirus from impacting the grades of current students who are living in uncertainty.
Students often suffer from mental health problems, and the virus is not helping. Isolation has caused a rise in anxiety, and students cannot perform to their best ability. University students are suffering.
GCSEs and A levels have already been cancelled, and students still require the qualifications. Students on their year abroad have not had long enough to master the language.
Starting in September is a tradition, but there is no reason why this has to be the case. This would buy us time.
