Employ University Health Care Students and Lecturers to help with COVID-19
Employ Healthcare professional (HCP) and nursing students as Health care assistants, including sports therapy students as HCA or rehab assistants.
Universities to relieve HCP/ nurse lecturers of duties on full pay to contribute towards NHS coronavirus effort.
In view of University closures it is reasonable to propose all HCP/ nursing students are offered the opportunity of NHS roles to cover anticipated absences. Many students work in bars/restaurants ect… shortfall could be covered.
Sport and Exercise Therapy students could contribute. The American medical association rightfully recognises their equivalent, as health care professionals.
Universities should relieve healthcare lecturers of normal duties on full pay to support the national effort.
