COVID-19: Increase safety measures to reduce the spread & protect staff.
Ensure supermarkets implement urgent safety measures to reduce the spread of COVID19.
- Establishment of hand washing stations outside supermarkets
- Compulsory customer hand washing before entry (or PPE)
- Cleaning of supermarket trolleys, hand baskets, chip and pin machines & conveyor belts.
Supermarkets/ shops are a risk area, we need to protect workers & customers. We all need to visit them & we need action now. Supermarkets should act or contract in appropriate cleaning or other companies to support initiatives such as: - Set up of hand washing stations outside supermarkets. - Visors/ screens for check out staff, gel/ hand wash between customers. - Cleaning conveyor belts, chip & pin, self service, handles, trolleys/ baskets. - Floor markings encouraging people to keep distance.
