Petition Action

Give same financial help to self employed as employees during COVID-19 crisis

Petition Details

Make it easier and faster for self employed sole traders to receive financial help without having to go through the benefits system.

Additional Information

Whilst employees can claim ssp or have the backup from the government to pay a partial wage, self employed sole traders have no wage when jobs get cancelled, this is happening now.
As most of them have credit accounts with there suppliers there will still be bills coming in that have to be paid, plus the tax that they have to account for for the next tax payment due.
Self employed can not wait in the benefits queue while the bills are rolling in and there’s no food on the table.
