Provide sufficient financial support for self-employed during Covid-19 crisis
Financial support announced for the five million self-employed workers in the UK is inadequate, unfair and nowhere near enough to support families relying on self-employment income.
Financial support should match that for those in employment - 80% of the last tax return up to £2500 per month
The self-self employed contributed over £275bn to the UK economy in 2018 according to the IPSE, enough to provide NHS funding twice over, so shouldn’t be dismissed.
Help self-employed workers stay afloat and survive the Corona-19 crisis.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
