Pay the Self-employed 80% of the profits declared on their 18/19 tax return.
It is very unfair that the self-employed aren’t being included in the governments plan to pay employees 80% of their wages. They work so hard and so many of the people that have totally lost their income are self employed.
I want Rishi to announce that the self employed will be paid 80% of the profit they declared on their last tax return (subject to a maximum of £2,500 per month).

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
