Guarantee 80% of a self employed person’s previous tax year income
Guarantee 80% of a Self Employed person’s income based on their last tax return up to the value of £2500 a month in the same way a furloughed employee will be paid.
15% of the workforce make up the self employed sector. People who have worked incredibly hard to build up a business, contributing to society - maybe even generating jobs, are seeing their businesses grind to a halt. Zero cash flow and mounting bills.
Deferring VAT and tax liabilities will be pointless if the self employed can not pay it.
Offering Universal Credit to the value of SSP, around £95 a week, falls fair short of providing financial assistance to millions of people who need it now

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
