Make 5 July a bank holiday to celebrate the founding of the NHS
I would like HM Government to make every 5 July (or the nearest Monday) a Bank Holiday to celebrate the National Health Service and its Staff, both current and retired.
Covid-19 has caused unprecedented stress and strain upon the infrastructure of the UK. The NHS has been at the forefront of this and has remained steadfast and unfaltering in their dedication and selflessness. We should acknowledge this with a day celebrating the NHS yearly.
As Nigel Lawson once said, "The NHS is the closest thing the English have to a religion"
