Extend Coronavirus income protection to the Self-employed
Millions of workers are categorised as self-employed in the UK. Some are sole traders while others are workers on zero-hour contracts.
We call upon the government to extend the 80% income security package to cover these workers as well, many of already suffering hardship due to the outbreak.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
