Petition Action

Make changes to the the Alevel exams next year to make them fair due to COVID19.

Petition Details

In light of the current situation I am asking you to take up in the House of Commons how significantly effected Year 12s who have their A levels next year will become.
Year 12s, are now missing out on 5 months worth of significant content that is detrimental to our A-Level exams.

Additional Information

We are tirelessly working at home to keep on top of the 5 months worth of content we are now missing. The challenge of A-levels, it is simply not effective enough as suppose to having hours of lessons a week with a qualified teacher. Our exams are due in 11 months time, with 5 possibly more months worth of significant content missed, this is a massive proportion of only a 2 year course. This is causing myself, and all my peers in year 12 extreme levels of anxiety that our exams, will not be fair.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
