Petition Action

Cancel new years firework and use additional tax payer money on funding the NHS

Petition Details

In light of the continuing threat from coronavirus and the NHS being underfunded, it seems sensible to put money budgeted for the fireworks display towards helping the NHS.

Additional Information

In light of the continuing threat from coronavirus and the NHS being underfunded, it seems sensible to put money budgeted for the new years eve fireworks display towards helping the NHS. We appear to be making cuts but not necessarily in the right places.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Fireworks displays are a matter for the local council. In the case of London fireworks, this would be a matter for the Mayor of London.
