Ban the use of trolleys in supermarkets to ensure everyone gets what they need

Petition Details

We are a great nation, but we are crumbling with people panic buying and stealing from those in need when there is enough tk go around. Please vote for baskets ONLY to be permitted in supermarkets so people just get what they need and everyone can eat.

Additional Information

Things are getting out of control and the government are doing what they can. There are so many of us wit growing concern for elderly and NHS workers that are having to go without due to unnecessary panic buying. We need stronger measures.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This would be a decision for individual retailers, not the UK Government or Parliament. In any case, it could prevent people with disabilities, or frail and elderly people from being able to access groceries.
