Ensure NHS staff treating COVID19 patients have PPE which meets WHO guidelines.
There needs to be a government strategy to increase/ ensure the supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) recommended for medical workers per WHO guidelines (e.g. N95/FFP3 face masks, face visors).
If necessary, any required PPE sold commercially should be requisitioned by the government.
Recommended PPE guidelines (e.g. a paper face mask, short gloves and an apron) does not meet the WHO's standards and does not sufficiently protect NHS staff.
In Italy, there are currently reports of 2,629 medical workers with COVID19 and deaths of 13 medics.
If our NHS does not have sufficient PPE and UK cases continue increasing, there will be significantly large numbers of NHS frontline staff lives at risk and high risk of the NHS not having enough medical workers to treat patients.
