Place restrictions on the press during times of national crisis
Carefully monitor and scrutinise headlines and press releases during times of crisis such as the corona virus
Press releases during the corona virus have caused surges in panic buying and hoarding amongst the British public. Certain newspapers release scaremongering headlines in an effort to increase sales. In times of crisis the government should be able to stop press releases that can cause panic in the public domain.
