Address the Desperate PPE Crisis in the NHS now - Working in Fear to Protect you
An urgent plea to the UK government & Public Health England(PHE) to:
1. PROVIDE both adequate and appropriate PPE for all NHS workers
2. REVISE our current national personal protective equipment(PPE) guidelines
SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE NOW. Please protect us to protect you.
The current guidance for COVID-19 states that when managing suspected/confirmed cases, disposable gloves, aprons & surgical masks are adequate. Globally, including China & Italy, health workers are using vastly superior PPE when treating patients.
As a group of respiratory doctors working in the frontline of this pandemic, we are gravely concerned for our safety and that of our vulnerable patients as a result of inadequate PPE. FIVE NHS doctors are on ventilators - we need to act now!
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/304243
Advice on the use of personal protective equipment is a matter for Public Health England, not the Government or Parliament.
