Pay self employed/sole directors of ltd companies the same as employed people
The current consideration and actual financial assistance for the 5 million+ self-employed people across the UK during this Coronavirus outbreak is insufficient & unfair. It will not cover ongoing business or living costs. The 5 million + businesses will fold and will costs society billions.
The government needs to take immediate action to save small businesses that do not currently fall under provisions made. Gov. must be realistic & realise without support self-employed “small businesses” will fail.
This petition requests the government treat self employed the same as employed staff & guarantee to fund 80% of their income up to £2,500 per month, based on historic tax returns. This will allow the self-employed sector to see this through & bounce back when it is over.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
