Current status: Rejected
Rejection code: honours (see below for details)
Formally submit a recommendation to the Queen to honour each every NHS worker.
Bypass the normal process of submissions being put to the honours committee. Instead, have the Prime Minister submit an overall recommendation for all NHS workers to be honoured to the Queen.
The criteria for awarding honours is 1. Made achievements in public life; 2. Committed themselves to serving and helping Britain. The footnote goes on to say that ‘They’ll usually have made life better for other people or be outstanding at what they do.’
I believe that in the current circumstances with the battle against COVID-19 and the overwhelming strength and commitment shown by the NHS workers, each and every one of these dedicated workers should be honoured appropriately.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because it asks for someone to be nominated for an honour.
Members of the public can nominate people for honours directly, although it is not possible to nominate a group or organisation for an honour. You can find out how to nominate someone for an honour here: www.gov.uk/honours
We have accepted petitions calling for the Government to award people working in essential occupations medals, which you might like to sign.
