Give Vulnerable People an enhanced Statutory Sick Pay during Covid-19 outbreak
Vulnerable people are asked to stay home for the 12 weeks however many of them contribute to their family income. They should be entitled to an enhanced rate of Statutory Sick Pay which takes into account the amount of time off work and the economical effect on their lives.
Vulnerable people should receive adequate compensation to help them coping with the stress and uncertainty of the current situation.
This compensation should be more than the SSP rate as the amount of time off work will be significant.
Families will not be able to cope with the normal rate of SSP for months, especially under this circumstance.
