Petition Action

I believe that BTEC students should be treated the same as GCSE.

Petition Details

I would like the government to take into consideration, as I understand you have a lot to already but how students who study btec are under a lot of pressure with what’s going on recently along with further course work.

Additional Information

As we are all in a pandemic with this coronavirus I believe that there are bigger issues like keeping our families safe rather than doing extra work from home which is a struggle keep doing class webcalls rather than being together to physically help.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the Government's announcement about what will happen to exams here: www.gov.uk/government/news/further-details-on-exams-and-grades-announced

Ofqual has stated that it is working with awarding organisations to finalise a list of qualifications that we will advise the Secretary of State should be in scope for learners to receive a calculated result, and this will include many BTEC Nationals: www.gov.uk/government/news/awarding-vocational-and-technical-qualifications-this-summer
