Learning Disabilities to be included in treatment via NICE Guidelines re:Covid19

Petition Details

Today we have been alerted that NICE Guidelines do not included a critical treatment plan within ITU for persons with Learning Disabilities. I would like for this to be amended so all persons have EQUAL RIGHTS to critical treatment re: Covid19

Additional Information

Amend NICE Guidelines immediately to include guidance for treatment for persons with learning disabilities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is an executive non-departmental public body, so decisions about how NICE drafts its guidelines is an operational matter for NICE, not the Government or Parliament.

However, since you started your petition the Government has published guidance for care staff supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, which is available here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-supporting-adults-with-learning-disabilities-and-autistic-adults/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-care-staff-supporting-adults-with-learning-disabilities-and-autistic-adults
