Implement a Hammer and Dance strategy for dealing with COVID-19 Immediately
The NHS faces being totally overwhelmed by COVID-19 in the coming days. We must buy time to fight the coronavirus.
Lockdown - countrywide enforced social distancing - can prevent hundreds of thousands of deaths and allow medics, scientists, and policymakers time to learn more and respond.
Millions of lives are at stake!
There is hesitation to bring down the “Hammer” now because of fear the outbreak will resume as soon as we ease social distancing. But South Korea has shown that 3-8 weeks of suppression can get the virus under control. After that, it’ll be an ongoing “Dance” of testing and tracing to keep the virus from breaking out again until effective treatments and vaccinations arrive. A Hammer-and-Dance strategy is the best way to save lives and minimise economic damage.
