Extend the 80% salary support to include self-employed workers
There are 5 self-employed million people working in the U.K., many working in jobs essential to the running of this country. Despite this fact, this Government has only to offered to pay employed workers 80% of their salaries.
For example, an employee on £25,000 would have £20,000 covered by the Government’s scheme, whilst a self-employed worker would only have £5000 of benefits. This petition asks the Government to extend the 80% salary support scheme to include self-employed workers.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
