Ban ice-cream vans with immediate effect to prevent the spread of COVID-19
Ice cream vans are patrolling street to street handling cash and cones, often directly to young children in very close proximity. Households that have been in isolation want to treat themselves and simply pop out to a van. This is an unrestrained vector of infection, fuelled by the closure of shops.
Ban ice cream vans from operating immediately.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
Ice cream vans can, subject to local licensing and registration requirements, operate as takeaway services during the coronavirus outbreak. Food delivery and takeaway services are exempt from the requirement for food and drink establishments to close.
We have already published a petition calling on the Government to Close all unnecessary businesses including takeaways to safeguard health, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/307294
