Petition Action

Award all NHS Staff and support workers a Covid-19 campaign medal

Petition Details

In recognition of the enormous personal effort and sacrifice made by all NHS and support staff during the Covid-19 pandemic the UK Government awards them with a campaign medal and ribbon. The medal would be similar to the type issued to military personnel during operational tours of duty.

Additional Information

Only the Queen and UK Government can create such an award. The award would take the nature of a medal and ribbon. The medal to be worn during remembrance and civic events and the ribbon to worn on the daily working uniform of NHS staff and support workers. It is clear the NHS staff are fighting the greatest threat to the UK in its peacetime history. It would help to ensure that the national appreciation of NHS workers during this pandemic becomes an enduring one for generations to come.
