Petition Action

Cease with immediate effect all council tax, utility bill and housing payments

Petition Details

We applaud HMG's desire to drive unprecedented behavioural change in the UK to prevent the spread of COVID19, protect the NHS, and save innumerable lives.

However, all measures announced so far are "jam tomorrow" and do nothing to drive the immediate behavioural change required to succeed.

Additional Information

We note the measures in the budget, and w/c 16 March, to support UK citizens and businesses in the fight against COVID19. We fully support the drive to eradicate the virus from the country and the world.

However, measures announced so far are too complex and unwieldy and do not support the urgent change needed.

We request all council tax, utility, mortgage and rent payments be suspended immediately and for 1 month after resolution, to allow us to deliver the changes needed to be effective.
