Increase the penalty for those who knowingly break Coronavirus restrictions
Financial penalties and "dispersing gatherings" is simply not enough to deter people from following the new Coronavirus restrictions. Vulnerable people's lives are on the line, and so the UK government should increase the penalty for those found knowingly breaking the new Coronavirus restrictions.
If we proceed with such indifference towards those who break the rules, then we make a crisis like the one seen in Italy all the more likely. The most vulnerable members of our society are at risk, and we should do more to deter people from breaking the rules than mere fines.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you want to see tougher penalties, but we're not sure what they would be.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
