Amend NICE guideline NG159 and clarify use of the Clinical Frailty Score (CFS).
NICE NG159 is not clear that the CFS should apply to adults only and not children. The CFS and NG159 need specific guidance on learning disability to make it clear that healthcare professionals should not judge adult patients on their cognitive ability when making life or death decisions.
The Clinical Frailty Score and Guidance NG159 as is could result in patients with a learning disability not getting equal access to critical care and potentially dying avoidably.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is an executive non-departmental public body, so the content of guidance produced by NICE is an operational matter for NICE, not the Government or Parliament.
Nonetheless, since you started your petition, this guidance has been amended, and is now clear the guidance and assessment of frailty relates only to adults, and should not be used for people with learning disabilities: www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng159/chapter/1-Admission-to-hospital
