Donate student tuition fees from universities to the NHS.
Tuition fees for at LEAST one semester of this academic year should be donated to the NHS to combat COVID-19.
Students have missed over half a semester of contact hours due to strikes, and could now miss the rest of the year due to the coronavirus outbreak. Universities do not NEED this money if they are not teaching students, and the NHS would benefit hugely from the extra funding in tackling COVID-19.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Monies received in tuition fees are the responsibility of the recipient university, and not the Government or Parliament.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to ensure continued Universal health cover by legally committing to a minimum spend, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/300925
The Government has also said that the the NHS will get whatever extra resources it needs to cope with coronavirus: www.gov.uk/government/speeches/budget-speech-2020
