During this viral crisis, introduce a universal citizen's basic income for ALL.
To also consider a ways and means motion to temporarily cancel all business support; all benefits and pension rights (excluding disability); suspending all business/individual rent and mortgage repayments; and doubling income/dividend tax rates to establish affordability.
The self employed, zero hours contract, part-time precariat workers and those on benefits will struggle to survive this viral crisis; likewise the homeless, those on benefits, the disabled and the sick. We are a wealthy country where £billions of large fortunes are parked abroad tax free and the top decile income equals 30% of the UK wage bill (HMRC Appendix 2.4 Report: Shares of Total Income), This group has the means to sacrifice a little during the crisis for the greater good.
