Give all essential worker a tax break for earnings during the Covid 19 crises
The Government should give all essential workers a tax break by doubling the tax free allowance for all essential workers in the tax year 20/21 during this Covid 19 emergency. It can be reset the following Tax year if this pandemic is over.
During the pandemic many jobs have been deemed essential. Many of these jobs are low paid, but are seen as important for life to continue in these trying times. Many are face to face with the public so risking their health to do these jobs and are doing long hours as their colleagues go ill.
By doubling the tax free allowance for these worker you are allowing them to be both rewarded for their efforts and encouraging them to help cover any gaps in the rota due to illness
