Declare a national holiday on the day after Coronavirus lockdown is over
Lockdown specifically refers to any restrictions placed on daily life as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.
This petition asks that the day after these restrictions are lifted should be a national holiday.
This should include all the normal parameters of a bank holiday.
There are 2 main reasons:
Celebration
Rejuvenation
The limitations of self isolation and social distancing are an affront to many since they cannot enjoy that basic aspect of life. The holiday would allow people to go out and meet friends and family for the first time in weeks, a joyous moment for many. Permitting things like parties and meetings would give people the chance to improve their mood and to reintegrate into daily life.
Secondly, rejuvenation which simply allows people to re consolidate energy after a long period of isolation; preparing them for work and going back to normal life.
