Widen the classification of a leisure business to include additional businesses
Following the announcement of support packages offered, we request that the classification should include all event suppliers who have been significantly impacted but are unable to receive support as they do not operate from a property recognised by the local authority as leisure.
The events industry was one of the first to be impacted and it has been significant as no events are planned for the several months. Currently they are not recognised as leisure by the local authority as they do not operate from properties such as hotels, pubs etc. By including events businesses as leisure, they will be able to access the vital grants and rates relief that they require. Without this, there is a high risk of business closure and loss of jobs.
