Petition Action

Halt construction work in UK admist Covid-19 to protect workers and the public.

Petition Details

Shut down building sites unless essential for the NHS and send workers home with immediate effect without fear of losing their jobs or contracts if self employed.

Additional Information

"Bricks and mortar" are not essential "lives are"

Whilst we're all being told to stay at home, building of private dwellings and offices is being allowed to continue. Workers are unable to adhere to social distancing due to the nature of their work but are compelled to as they fear losing their jobs or contracts.

Their lives, the lives of their families and potentially thousands of others lives are at risk by allowing this industry to continue with non-essential work.
