Petition Action

Force the banks to issue business interruption loans NOW

Petition Details

Banks are refusing business interruption loans to companies if the directors have homes etc to collateralise... rather offering personal guarantees on ordinary loans. This is not the spirit in which the loans were offered, this needs direct intervention NOW, before people start closing the doors.

Additional Information

Because if the government does not step in, millions of people in the SME sector will be out of work.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The offering of loans by banks is a matter for individual banks, and not the Government or Parliament.
