Protect workers from unfair dismissal during COVID-19 for self isolation.
Employees in non essential roles are forced to go to work or lose their jobs during the COVID-19 lock down. This is unacceptable, employers should be prosecuted for putting people's health at risk, and endangering the public by spreading COVID-19 and not taking steps to protect staff and the public
The government must support those workers as much as he is supporting industry. People have the right to work in a safe environment without being coerced by managers with fear of being fired if they do not comply. Unethical employers are not making enough adjustments to allow work from home. We call on the Prime Minister for clarity in this down lock and prosecution of employers not complying. A helpline for workers in such situations for reporting and advice of non-compliance by employers.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Rules about unfair dismissal continue to apply during the coronavirus pandemic, although the Government's current advice to employers doesn't prevent employees from being required to attend to work.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to consider closing down offices/businesses and order to work from home, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301439
If you would like the Government to take a different action you could start a new petition stating more clearly what you want the Government to do.
