Petition Action

Close nonessential warehouses to protect employees and their families.

Petition Details

Force closure of nonessential warehouses/ factories during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Additional Information

The prime minister announced that all nonessential stores should be closed to slow the spread of Covid-19. Many businesses have continued to operate online, with warehouse employees not being able to adhere to social distancing rules.

This is putting the warehouse employees and their families at risk of infection. Many businesses will not assign employees as furloughed while trading online, meaning their employees will not benefit from the job retention scheme set up by the government.
