Acknowledge the impact of UCU strikes & Covid-19 pandemic on University students
Acknowledge the impact that the strikes and pandemic have had on students
Postpone all deadlines until access to the university resources are restored
Inform students of concrete plans or measures for special consideration due to these unprecedented circumstances
Financially compensate students
Postponing assignments/special consideration in marking as key facilities are closed. We cannot access the vital resources which are essential for our assessments. Most students do not have suitable working conditions at home or access to sufficient technology.
Financial compensation as we have not received a full academic years’ worth of contact time, losing approximately 8 weeks of our education. Alongside rent for accommodation, an extra financial burden in a time of global economic strife.

Suspending payments or providing refunds for tuition fees and rent are a matter for individual universities and landlords, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
