Remove the requirement from schools to have a "broadly Christian" influence.
This petition is to repeal the clauses of the Education Acts that specify that schools should have collective worship of "wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character" (Education Reform Act 1988, Part 1, Section 2, Point 7)
In practice, this has led to Chaplains being part of a school's make-up, giving children only one viewpoint in our multi-faith, multicultural society.
The petition calls for this to end- restricting Religion and faiths to the Religious Education classrooms in all non-denominational state schools, and giving the Education system an unbiased position in the teaching of faith.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
