Petition Details

Re-purpose paramedics to help people with ailments and COVID19 by giving the ambulance driving jobs to unemployed drivers by trade and free up the paramedics to provide the medical attention.

This will allow more paramedics to help people and provide jobs to unemployed drivers

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The staffing of ambulance services is an operational decision for individual ambulance services, and not the Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling on the Government to provide additional funding to ambulance services, to enable them to increase capacity during the current outbreak, but the Government has already said the NHS will get whatever resources they need to cope with coronavirus.
