Petition Action

The Government recommend to Her Majesty that the NHS be awarded the George Cross

Petition Details

On behalf of the Nation, to show our gratitude, the Government and Parliament should recommend to Her Majesty that the NHS be awarded the George Cross for outstanding bravery in risking their lives to save others during the current Corona Virus Pandemic.

Additional Information

The George Cross is the nation's highest award to civilians for bravery. In fighting the current Corona Virus Pandemic staff across the NHS are putting themselves at risk to save the lives of others. To show the Nation's gratitude the Government should recommend to Her Majesty that the George Cross be awarded to the whole of the NHS for outstanding bravery. The George Cross is rarely awarded to groups, however exceptions do exist including the Island of Malta for gallantry during the War.
