Petition Action

Review the proposal to stop the chemotherapy of cancer patient due to Covid 19

Petition Details

The government is planning to stop the chemotherapy of cancer patients for at least two weeks. to reduced transmission of Covid 19 infections.

Additional Information

We are advising people to stay at home to reduce the mortality due to covid 19 but this action would increase the mortality rate of patients dying from cancer.

We cannot solve a problem with another problem. I do not think for a second that stopping the chemotherapy of patients with cancer would be the solution for fighting Covid 19.

In some cancer patient, Stopping the chemotherapy would not be a big deal but in some patientsl stopping the chemotherapy means a lot in surviving or dying.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about ongoing medical treatment are a matter for NHS England and individual NHS trusts, not the Government or Parliament.

Decisions about how to act on this guidance will be a matter for individual trusts.
