Petition Action

Do More to help Self-Employed with less than 12 months books during the pandemic

Petition Details

On 23/03/2020 the government announced their support package to help the self-employed people in the uk during this pandemic. The Chancellor announced on this day that only self-employed people who filed a tax return in 2019 (amongst other criteria) are eligible for this help.

Additional Information

Unfortunately, this excludes a large number of people who made the hard decision to go self-employed in 2019 and have not had the opportunity to submit a tax return.
In September, having been employed for 10 years+, I choose to leave my secure employed position to further my career and work for my self.
My Wife is a cleaner who has been self-employed since Oct 2019, we have three kids, £94 a week is not enough to help us survive, we face times of extreme hardship and bankruptcy.

We need help!
