Petition Action

Increase pay for Prison Officers during the Coronavirus period.

Petition Details

As a prison officer, working during this period is not only dangerous but a stressful time. The general public get to self isolate and protect themselves by not being around others but as a Prison Officer we are expected to put ourselves and loved ones at risk.

Additional Information

Self employed are getting paid to sit at home and self isolate, shops are getting paid to shut their doors and self isolate. A prison Officer has no choice but to continue as a front line key worker and our pay should reflect that. Most large supermarket are not recognising us as keyworkers and are not allowing us the early shopping which means we have no option but to buy what’s left on the shelf which most of the time is very limited and very expensive.
