Covid-19 aid for small company directors that draw minimal salaries & dividends.
Allow directors of small limited companies that draw minimal salaries to claim 80% of their total earnings including salary AND dividends, up to a maximum of £2,500 as part of the coronavirus job retention scheme.
Directors of small ltd companies who are often the sole or one of a very few employees of their own business are routinely advised to pay themselves a minimal salary and top this up with dividends whenever there is profit available. Under current plans only salary will be taken into account for CVJRS payments which will result in a massive reduction in income. We would like parity with the self employed or employed and have all of our earnings paid by our businesses to be taken into account.
