Award the NHS the George Cross for their dedication through this crisis
I wish for the Queen to award the NHS the George Cross for their unswerving dedication in serving the public need throughout their history and in particular in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The NHS is a standard bearer for public health. It has looked after our welfare since its inception. In the last few months it has been tested as never before. Its staff have continued to treat their patients throughout the worst pandemic this country has known since the Spanish Flu. It should be recognised for the bravery of its staff when faced with a threat that they knew little about. The George Medal recognises outstanding bravery by civilians and I believe this should be awarded.
