Ban garden and allotment fires during the Coronavirus pandemic.
We want the government to bring in an emergency measure to ban the burning of wood and rubbish during the lockdown associated with the Coronavirus pandemic.
People are stuck at home and need fresh air more than ever. Despite the drastic reduction in traffic, air quality from ultra fine smoke particles (PM2.5) is getting worse. We need to be able to go outside and to ventilate our homes without breathing polluted air. Poor air quality is already being linked to increased probability of death where people contract COVID-19. We need to be able to keep as healthy as possible at this critical time.
