All Running Educational Facilities Should Be Required to Delay Deadlines

Petition Details

An exceptional amount of students have contacted the head of their educational facility and have not received satisfactory replies, in other words, they went unheard.
Students are still expected to achieve outstanding grades regardless of how their mental health is being impacted by the pandemic.

Additional Information

Many students across the UK have been overwhelmed by the pandemic occurring, many have fled to their home countries due to the scare. Unfortunately, education facilities have been inconsiderate towards the additional stress students have been put on leading to high expectations during this crisis.
An example of this is the underrated amount of pressure students are facing. Instead of cancelling exams, students are offered alternatives to their exams, such as, writing essays while being timed.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here: www.gov.uk/government/news/further-details-on-exams-and-grades-announced

If you want the Government to review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/306773

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
